What is Naloxone?
Iron is essential towards helping your body to function at it’s best, as it helps to transport oxygen around the body, keeping you alive.
Low iron levels can be detrimental to your health and can lead to fatigue, breathlessness, decreased immunity, and anaemia. Additional symptoms may include difficulty concentrating, hair loss, headaches, and dizziness.
What does “Take-Home” mean?
It means you can get a naloxone kit to keep with you, so you can use it in an emergency before medical help arrives.
Who can get it?
In many areas, it’s available to:
- People at risk of opioid overdose
- Family, friends, or carers
- Members of the public who may need to respond in an emergency
How is it used?
Opioid overdoses can happen quickly, and naloxone can save a life if given in time. Having a kit nearby allows for immediate action while waiting for emergency services.
Why is it important?
Usually given as a nasal spray or injection, and it’s designed to be used by non-medical people with simple instructions.
